Sharing World Wide Views

In a Co-op work term as Communications Coordinator for World Wide Views (WWViews) Canada on Biodiversity, I travelled to Copenhagen to meet the organizers and other coordinators for project management training. There, we were 80 individuals representing over 20 countries worldwide. The intercultural interaction helped me to better understand the unique biodiversity objectives and challenges around the globe. At this seminar I was interviewed by The Danish Board of Technology on my hopes and expectations for the upcoming WWViews citizen meetings.

WWViews is a global citizen participation project designed to provide policymakers with information about citizens’ views on relevant global issues – like biodiversity. On September 15th 2012, citizens from all over the world met in their countries to debate the same biodiversity themes and questions with their fellow countrymen. At the end of the day it was possible to compare the results from all participating countries and in October 2012 the results were presented at the United Nations Biodiversity conference, COP11 in India.
